New Delhi, December 6: Samajwadi Party and the BJP-Shiv Sena combine on Monday clashed in the Lok Sabha over the Ayodhya issue with the former accusing top BJP leaders of their involvement in the conspiracy to demolish the disputed structure on December 6, 1992.

Raising the issue during zero hour, SP member Ramji Lal Suman demanded that those who had demolished the mosque should be condemned in very strong terms, triggering vociferous protests from BJP and Shiv Sena members.

Certain remarks made by Suman were expunged from the records by Speaker Somnath Chatterjee after BJP deputy leader V.K. Malhotra vehemently objected to them amid loud shouts of 'Jai Sri Ram' by party members.

Basudeb Acharya, CPM, contended that former UP Chief Minister Kalyan Singh had deposed that the conspiracy to demolish the mosque in Ayodhya was hatched at the residence of L.K. Advani.

The CPM member said Singh had changed his statement after rejoining the party and this should be clarified in the House.

Terming December 6, as " black day", Samajwadi party members staged a walkout.
