Thiruvananthapuram, December 27: Panic-stricken people from the coastal areas of many parts of Kerala moved away from their homes following reports since late Monday night that the killer wave tsunami might strike again.
Though in many places people on their own left homes by available modes of transport, no casualty or damage to property has been reported.
However, there have been reports of sea waves rising from some places in Alappuzha, Kollam, Vaipeen, Thrissur and Kozhikode.
In the state capital, people in the entire coastal area have been on the move.
Experts in the centre for earth science studies had warned about the possibility of the sea waters rising again along the Kerala coast as an aftermath of aftershocks of earthquake.
Thiruvananthapuram district collector Tinku Biswal said people from the vulnerable coastal areas had been asked to move to safer places.
"The process of moving the people to safer places were now on," a police official said.
