The Oberois had been in Cuddalore last week to adopt the fishing hamlet of Thevanampattinam, but were told that they would have to get the state government's consent.

Following this, Oberoi and his team started to set up about 200 temporary thatched huts with the permission of District Collector Gagandeep Singh Bedi.

The team put up 50 sheds on Wednesday.

Suresh Oberoi said electricity connection was being provided to huts. Repair works of damaged buildings and family health care programme would be taken up. Funds would not be a constraint for taking up relief measures, he added.
