Cops book Shiv Sena chief for damaging Mohali pitch

Mohali, February 11: Punjab police on Friday registered a case against Shiv Sena's Delhi unit president Jai Bhagwan Goyal, claiming that he was the "mastermind" behind Thursday's incident at the Punjab Cricket Association (PCA) ground in Mohali.

DIG, Ludhiana range, Praj Jain said that a case had been registered against Goyal under section 120-B (conspiracy).

He said that police would seek arrest warrant against Goyal.

A handful of Shiv Sena activists had caused "very minor damage" to the pitch at PCA ground, which is scheduled to host the first Test between India and Pakistan next month.
