New Delhi, February 27: The Left parties asked all secular parties in Bihar to get together to prevent "communal" forces from taking over the reins of power with the CPI(M) suggesting that the governor should call the single largest party to form government.
"The people's verdict is not an endorsement of the communal platform though the RJD has also been cut to size. But despite that, the fact that so many people voted in favour to make RJD the single largest party reflects its mass base," CPI(M) Politburo member Sitaram Yechury said.
He said the precedents set by respective presidents by inviting the single largest party to form governments at the centre, including BJP, should be kept in mind by the state governor, who should at the same time satisfy himself and then allow that party to establish majority on the floor of the House.
