Moderate quake registered in J&K

Srinagar, November 30: An earthquake of moderate intensity measuring 5.4 on the Richter scale occurred in Jammu and Kashmir on Wednesday but there were no reports of any damage to life or property.

The tremor was recorded at around 7.26 am. With its epicentre in Hindukash region in Pakistan, said Srinagar Met director L C Ram.

Official sources said there was no loss of life or property in the aftershock, recorded since Tuesday evening.

Wednesday's tremor was third in four days. Two 5.2-magnitude tremors were recorded on Sunday and Monday with both having epicentre in Pakistan. More than 120 aftershocks have been recorded in the state since the October 8 killer earthquake.
