Hyderabad, January 22: Expressing concern over cross-border terror, the Congress on Sunday asked its government at the Centre to press Pakistan President Pervez Musharraf to deliver on his promise that Islamabad would not allow its territory to be used for acts of violence against India.
In a draft political resolution, to be adopted at the Congress plenary, the party noted the cross-border terrorism might have come down in number but certainly not in intensity.
The resolution said with the Congress-led government now in saddle in Jammu and Kashmir, ‘we have a unique opportunity to add another constructive dimension to ongoing efforts to resolve the painful conflict’.
It expressed its ‘deepest’ concern on the plight of Kashmir Pandit migrants and asked government to initiate steps to ensure their rehabilitation and security.
