Mumbai, February 7: Pop singer Shaan was declared the Favourite Indian artiste-Pop for his song Tanha Dil, at the inaugural MTV Asia Awards-2002 function in Singapore.
Shaan bagged the top honours in the category, beating other nominees, including Asha Bhosale, Sonu Nigam, Falguni Pathak, Chitra and Ustad Sultan Khan.
Back in the metropolis after receiving the award last Saturday, Shaan said he was extremely elated to have won the prestigious award.
“I felt tanha dil, from the album of the same name, was especially nice and deserving of the award but I also thank my lucky stars and voters, who felt the same way too. It was thrilling to see the extremely positive and cheerful reaction abroad to my winning the award,” he said.
