IAAF meet

NEW DELHI: All is set for the 2nd IAAF World Athletic Day meet to be held at Patiala on May 3 and 4. About 300 juniors are expected to participate in this important meet.

Several national champions and record holders will be seen in action. They include:

N Gojan Singh (5000 m), Ajay Raj Singh (100 m 200m), Baiju Mirandi (800 m), Sahib Singh (hurdles), Sanjay Kumar Rai (long jump), Sunil Kumar Azad (high jump), Parandeep Singh (shot put), Sunita Rani (1500 m), Amandeep Kaur (400 m), Vinita Tripathy (100 m 200 m), Sunita Dahiya (800 m), Sunita (400 m), M Madhuri (long jump), K Jeboshori Deve (hammer throw), Soma Biswas (hurdles). 80 riders in fray

BANGALORE: Over 80 riders, including an eight-member Sri Lankan contigent, will participate in the Mr International Motocross for two wheelers on May 4 at Hoskote, about 40 km from here. The total distance of the race is 600 metres. There were two seven-foot high table tops, one double and three single jumps, three sharp turns and five fast turns hoop-de-doos.
