Job for sex scam victim

Express News Service

May 1: The Thane police today said Nihal Ahmed, the man who exposed the Malegaon sex scandal, has been given a temporary job as a peon at the Badlapur police station. He will be made permanent in this post soon, they added.

Nihal had earlier received a letter on April 9 telling him he was being hired as a sweeper till December 31,1997 on a monthly salary of Rs 140. Nihal had supported his wife in court despite tremendous pressure after he learnt that she had been a victim of blackmail.

Nihal got this job after struggling for over two years . All he had was a recommendation of home minister Gopinath Munde and a steely will.
