Scouts and Guides

The Maharashtra State Fellowship of the Former Scouts and Guides has initiated a programme of Moral Re-armament of today's younger generation with an evening symposium on `Scout and Guide Fellowship for a Better World'. The seminar will be held at the Scouts and Guides Pavilion at Shivaji Park, Dadar on Saturday. The aim of the seminaar is to strengthen the good work of the scouting and guiding movement in the state and consolidate the brotherhood among former scouts and guides.

Goregaon chowk

Shivshankar Chaudhari Chowk opposite Dindoshi bus depot, Goregaon (E) was inaugurated on Thursday by Raj Kumar Purohit, Minister of state for Employment, Housing and Urban Land and Ceiling. The function was organised jointly by Yashodham Residents Welfare Association and Rajasthani Mandal, Gokuldham.

Dock workers

The Port and Dock workers will celebrate the 70th birthday of S R Kulkarni, president, All India Port & Dock Workers' Federation and a well-known labour leader on May 5. The function will be held at P D' Mello Bhawan Hall at Carnac Bunder in south Mumbai. Pramod Navalkar, Minister for Transport, will be the chief guest.

Best Architect

Architect Prem Nath received the Architect of The Year award for 1996 at the eleventh anniversary and annual awards function hosted by `Accommodation Times' on Wednesday.

Prem Nath, a veteran architect, graduated from the JJ School of Arts 32 years ago. His prominent projects include the Nehru Planetarium, Hare Krishna temple, Ambassador Hotel in Mumbai, and the Sentosa Garden Course at Singapore.
