Congress poll schedule ignores deadline

[Details] A showdown between the Congress and the Election Commission (EC) appears likely on the question of the deadline for the party to complete its organisational elections. It has openly defied the Commission's fiat that the party's organisational elections be completed before May 31 by announcing a revised schedule which stretches up to July 15.
