Killer wolves strike again in eastern UP
Amit Sharma
LUCKNOW, May 7: Contrary to the claims of forest officials, the
hide-and-seek game between frightened villagers and killer wolves for the
past three months in Raebareli district of Uttar Pradesh, around 80 km from
the State capital, is far from over.
While two wolves have been killed by villagers and sharp-shooters during the
past one week, the number of man-eaters still roaming the district has not
been checked.
A five-year-old girl, Chand Rani, was dragged from her hut in Odhahar Majra
hamlet in Lalganj tehsil on May 4 and killed by the wolf.
Her head was recovered by her father Paragpal the next day from a nearby
field.
