Hundreds of Kalki devotees gathered at Satyalok on the Karnataka-Andhra Pradesh border on Monday hoping for a glimpse of the godman.
CHENNAI, May 13: More than 200 devotees of `Kalki' bhagwan, who consider him to be the incarnation of Rama and Krishna, assembled near the gates of the Madras High Court today hoping for a darshan of their `god'. One of the disciples of Kalki, Acharyulu Vimal Kirti, told the assembled devotees to disperse peacefully as the god had appeared at Satyalok on the Karnataka-Andhra Pradesh border yesterday and that the bhagwan was hale and hearty. On April 29 last, the Madras High Court had admitted a habeas corpus writ petition from one Gopalan here, for a direction to the state government and the police to produce Kalki bhagwan in court and to set him at liberty. Contending that the whereabouts of Kalki were not known, Gopalan alleged that the administrators had kidnapped him and detained him illegally. Apprehending danger to his life, the petitioner prayed for a direction to the DGP to produce the bhagwan in court and release him from the illegal detention of the ashram authorities at suburban Nemam. The devotees had assembled before the High Court thinking that the bhagwan was being produced in the court today. Meanwhile, the Tamil Nadu police who went to Sathyalok near Kolar gold field on the Karnataka-Andhra Pradesh border in search of Kalki returned empty-handed.
