Doctors nail police lie in Massay case

[Details] A detailed medical examination of Martin Massay, the 48-year-old executive who was brutally assaulted by Delhi Police personnel near Nizammudin last week, has clearly revealed that the injuries suffered by him were the result of blows by lathis and rifle butts. For a further study into the case the Crime Branch has been appointed for the purpose.

People's commission on biodiversity launched

[Details] `Biodiversity, indigenous knowledge and intellectual property rights,' presented to it by the Research Foundation for Science, Technology and Ecology. The commission will collect evidence and hold public hearings on `biopiracy' and intellectual property rights, to introduce an Intellectual Property Bill to protect patent rights and prevent biopiracy.
