CALCUTTA, May 16: Leander Paes trounced his poubles partner Mahesh Bhupathi 6-3 in the one set Akhtar Ali Benefit tie at the South Club here today.

In two doubles matches played today Leander-Bhupathi duo outplayed veterans Ramesh Krishnan and Zeeshan Ali while Aveek Sarkar and Leander went down to S Ahmed and Bhupathi.

Today's benefit matches raised Rs 10 lakh for former National champion and successful tennis coach Akhtar Ali.
