VASAI (Thane), May 17: Vasai MLA and TADA accused Hitendra Thakur who was relieved of the charges levelled against him in the infamous Suresh Dube murder case by the Special Designated Court at Pune on Friday was given a rousing welcome when he arrived at Virar.

The township was agog with brisk activities since Friday noon when the news of the release of the MLA reached there. The town was humming with the bursting of crakers, sweets were distributed, and many danced to the tune of lazims. The revelling continued till late in the night.
