CALCUTTA: Thespian Sambhu Mitra passed away on Monday, marking the end of a glorious era in Bengali theatre history. He was 81 and is survived by his daughter, Saoli, herself an eminent theatre personality. Mitra suffered a heart attack and breathed his last at 0215 hours. The cremation was held without fanfare at 0535 hours in deference to his last wishes.
