Pak excuse for defence budget hike
EXPRESS NEWS SERVICE
NEW DELHI, June 1: In the run-up to the second round of foreign secretary-level talks between India and Pakistan slated for June 19, the government in Islamabad seems to be using the excuse of an Indian fighter jet's ``violation'' of its airspace to lobby for a hike in its defence budget. Foreign minister Capt Gohar Ayub Khan said that the airspace violation by an Indian Mig-25 fighter jet earlier in the week could not be repulsed, because Pakistan does not have any aircraft or missile or other defence capability to intercept aircrafts at 72,000 feet.
