Egypt premier's sons to sue Saudi weekly

ASSOCIATED PRESS

CAIRO, June 2: President Hosni Mubarak's two sons are suing a Saudi-owned media company for slander and libel after one of its weeklies wrote a report on their business dealings.

The sons, Ala and Gamal, have asked Egypt's prosecutor-general to investigate the London-based Al-Jadida weekly, accusing it of ``false reports and lies,'' judicial officials said on Sunday. They asked the prosecutor to take action against all those involved in the crime, officials said.

It was not immediately clear what penalties the company might face, but its employees in Cairo could be prosecuted, said the officials, who spoke on conditions of anonymity.
