Digvijay calls for updating education system
UNITED NEWS OF INDIA
INDORE, June 2: Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Digvijay Singh today stressed the need for updating and providing latest education techniques in the already existing colleges in the country rather than going for establishing new colleges. Inaugurating the three-day round table conference of vice-chancellors jointly organised by the Association of Indian Universities and University Grants Commission, he said the facilities in the existing colleges must be improved for the qualitative development of higher education. Pointing out that the MP government had granted no-objection certificates for opening medical and engineering colleges, the chief minister said the authorities concerned should see to it that the private institutions should not become education shops. Stating that more budget allocation was necessary, Singh said it was not possible to bring a qualitative improvement without providing modern facilities in the colleges.
