MUMBAI, June 2: In a major development in the 1000-crore financial scam of the CRB Capital Markets Ltd and its 40 sister concerns, the crime branch of the Mumbai police have alerted over 24 prominent banks in Mumbai, Calcutta and Bangalore.

Following are the banks in Mumbai who are on ``the alert list'' of the Mumbai police : Punjab and National Bank, Unit Trust of India Bank, Bank of Rajasthan Ltd, ANZ Grindlays Bank, Global Trust Bank, Bank of India, Bank of Madurai, Hongkong and Shanghai Bank, State Bank of Travancore, Nariman Point, Bank of Madura, United Western Bank Ltd, Karur Vysya Bank Ltd, The Federal Bank Ltd, Andheri branch, Bank of Tokyo Ltd, Bank
