Centre eases pension payment rules

UNITED NEWS OF INDIA

NEW DELHI, June 8: Central government and family pensioners will now be paid their pensions for three months at a time, thanks to a simplified procedure drawn up by the Personnel and Pensions Ministry.

The simplified procedure was drawn up in view of difficulties faced by pensioners while transferring their pension account from one place to another or one bank to another.

The Central Pension Accounting Office has said that pension will now be paid for three months on the basis of the photocopy of the pensioner's payment order at transferred place/branch of the bank from the last date of payment.
