Amit Mohites lays Chikte

MUMBAI, June 8: Unseeded Amit Mohite continued his gaint-killing stride by ousting third seeded Aslam Chikte in the quarter-final of the Bindumadhav Thackeray Memorial Carrom Tournament organised by Maharashtra Carrom Association at the Sir Elly Kadoorie High School, Mazgaon, today.

Mohite defeated Chikte in straight games 25-24, 25-24 to enter semi-finals for the first time. In the women's semi-finals, top seed Anupama Kedar defeated fourth seeded Shilpa Joshi in straight games 25-23, 25-19. National champion Nirmala Parimi trounced second seeded Monaz Casper 25-5, 25-2.
