MUMBAI, June 8: The last date of applications for verification of marks of the recently concluded HSC examinations is June 21, 1997.

According to an official release here students should send their forms of HSC examination (New Course) to be conducted in October 1997 to concerned Heads of institutions by June 23, 1997.

The board will send computerised forms along with marksheets to students who have failed in the HSC examination.

Essay contest

The IX-All India Essay Contest in nuclear science and technology is being held. The participants can chose any one of the following topics: `Nuclear power - the need of the hour for India' or `Radiation and radioisotopes: a boon, not a bane'. The essay of about 2500 words, either typed in double space or neatly handwritten on one side of a paper, can be in any Indian language or English. The student should not write his/her name, institution, address on the essay but on a separate sheet only. Essays should reach the Publicity Division, Department of Atomic Energy, CSM Marg, Mumbai 39 before August 18, 1997.

MPSC test

The screening test for recruitment to the post of special auditor, class-II will be held by the Maharashtra Public Service Commission on June 22, 1997 at Aurangabad, Mumbai, Nagpur, and Pune. The Commission has already dispatched admission letters to all successful candidates. In case letters are not received by June 19, the candidates may obtain a duplicate admission letter on June 20 and 21 from the office of the resident of deputy collector of the respective district centres.

RIMC admission

Entrance examination to the Rashtriya Indian Military College (RIMC), Dehradun for academic year January 1998 will be held at Pune on August 4 and 5, 1997.Application forms may be obtained from Director, Maharashtra State Bureau of Examination, 17 Ambedkar Road, Pune-1.
