MUMBAI, June 15: Coaching classes for the National Defence Academy examinations scheduled to be held in September are being conducted by Swantantryaveer Savarkar Rashtriya Smarak. The next batch of classes will start on June 18, 1997. Interested persons may contact the secretary of the institute on tel no. 446 5877 between 5.30-7.30 pm. Lecture Justice Dharam Adhikari will deliver a lecture on Indian Constitution at Radio Club on June 18 at 6.45 pm. The programme is being organised by Rotary Club of Mumbai, Hill View. Applications n THE Maharashtra government has invited applications from members of the Press for authority letters from the Election Commission to cover the Presidential election slated for July 14, 1997. Applications are to be sent to Director General, Directorate General of Information and PR, Mantralaya, Mumbai before June 20. Constitution Bombay Small Scale Industries Association has called for more copies of the Indian Constitution (Hindi version) to be published and distributed among the people. They feel that the 15,000 copies were printed in 1988 are not enough to serve its purpose. Automatic rescue Otis Elevator Company (India) Ltd has introduced an automatic rescue device named Liftguard, which will prevent passengers from being trapped inside lifts during power failures. When a power failure occurs, the device will move the elevator to the nearest floor and will open the door. The cost will range from Rs 75,000 to Rs 1.6 lakh. JD morcha Purogami Lokshahi Morcha - a JD affiliated organisation has planned a morcha from Azad Maidan to the Mantralaya to protest against the reduction in rationing quota of food grains and kerosene at 3.00 pm on Monday.
