Rookie takes six Aussie wickets
AGENCE FRANCE PRESSE
LONDON, June 15: Jimmy Ormond, a 19-year-old fast bowler in only his fourth first class game, grabbed six wickets for 54 to leave Australia reeling at 220 for eight at Leister yesterday. Australian captain Mark Taylor, in his first knock since making 129 in the first Test against England, had made only one run when he was bowled by Ormond. And Mark Waugh, who badly needs runs before next week's Lords Test, later made just six before becoming Ormond's fifth victim. With the ball swinging appreciably in heavily overcast conditions, Ormond took two for 14 in his new ball spell and an impressive four for 25 from nine overs in his third. The only Australian batsman to stick it out in the sort of conditions that undid them at Worcester earlier in the tour was Ricky Ponting. He made 64 from 116 balls.
