Indian rights case comes up before Canada SC
Canada's supreme court has begun hearing a landmark case that will decide whether native Indians' right to their traditional lands was wiped out by colonial rule. The Gitskan and Wet'Suwet'En people claim they are the rightful owners of 57,000 sq km of land in remote north western British Columbia.

Joshi rules out chemical zone at Amravati MIDC
No chemical zone would be established at the Maharashtra Industrial Development Corporation area near Amravati stated Chief Minister Manohar Joshi. The delegation insisted that the chemical zone proposal be cancelled and a thorough survey of industrial development of the district be conducted.
