MUMBAI, June 18: Bhushan Singh Thakur and Chaitali Hate reigned supreme in the men's and women's in the Mumbai Suburban District Table Tennis Association's ranking tournament which concluded a the Mulund Gymkhana, here, today.

While Thakur overcame a sluggish start to overpower Ganadeep Bhiwandkar 19-21, 21-19, 21-18, 21-16 in the final, Chaitali faced no such difficulty registering an emphatic straight games victory (21-10, 21-15, 21-18) over Sonia Deshpande.

Nachiket Joshi emered triumphant in the boys singles.

But the most interesting encounter of the day came in the girls singles final. Shalmali Mhatre was stretched to the distance by Mamata Prabhoo before she claiming the decider 21-14 and the title. RESULTS (ALL FINALS): Men's singles: Bhushan Thakur bt Ganadeep Bhiwandkar 19-21, 21-19, 21-18, 21-16; Boys singles: Nachiket Joshi bt Swapnil Namjoshi 21-5, 17-21, 21-18, 21-16.

Women's singles: Chaitali Hate bt Sonia Deshpande 21-10, 21-15, 21-18; Girls singles: Shalmali Mhatre bt Mamata Prabhoo 21-13, 22-24, 21-9, 18-21, 21-14.
