THANJAVUR, June 19: Employees and 12 retired scholars of the Saraswati Mahal library, here, continued their fast for the fourth day, demanding the payment of pension. The condition of two participants, Sualiman (70), a paralytic patient and Rathnasamy Moopanar (70) has deteriorated. They pointed out that several employees who had served the library for 25-30 years were literally out on the streets. Though the government paid Rs 350 as an ad hoc payment at the time of the World Tamil Conference, they have been paid little else.
