THANE, June 21: Continuing his drive against unauthorised structures in Thane district, Collector Ujjwal Uke today blasted an unauthorised structure in Bhayander township with the help of dynamites.

The ground-plus-three-storied structure, measuring 9,000 square feet, was razed today by Revenue officials, according to sources.

Uke told newsmen that the building belonged to one Jaywant Patil of Rai-Murde village and was constructed on Government land. A total of 35 dynamites were used to blast the building. The operation lasted for more than five hours. Sub-divisional officer Vishwas Patil, Thane tahasildar Bharat Shitole was also present.
