Buses go off roads following driver's death

POLLACHI, June 20: Buses went off the roads in Pollachi and agitated public took to the streets following news of death of Ganesan (43), a lorry-owner-cum-driver, here. He was taken by the police for interrogation after his lorry hit a bus owned by the Coimbatore Transport Corporation (CTC). He was allegedly assaulted by the police, and later was admitted to the Coimbatore Medical College hospital where he died. Pollachi now wears a deserted look as vehicles have not plied on the roads today, and several shops have remained closed.
