Thigh is not the limit for the BBC

Oh, what a pity! the BBC bosses have decided they will not show flashes of knickers of women stars and have ordered the cameramen to keep their lenses trained above the ladies' waistlines. The BBC feels that ``seedy viewers'' are being given undue advantage with too many glimpses of the skimpily-clad backsides., a tabloid which has given sleaze an entirely different dimension, ran the story as the lead headlined it `Wimble-bum crackdown'.

The cameramen have been instructed that no flashes of the knickers are to appear on screen as the stars stretch for their shots. Also, they should take extra care when players sit down during the break. Only head and shoulder shots would be shown. But the camera crew, according to the tabloid, has not taken it lightly. ``We used to enjoy the breaks. The girls were getting sexier and sexier,'' cried one.

View to a thrill: On the topic of knickers, Wimbledon's obsession with it began way back in 1949 with American Gertude `Gussie' Moran who was banned from wearing coloured knickers. She put lace on them to stand out from her rivals. It didn't take long for the Wimbledon public to fall in love with her. And photographers fought with each other as they lay flat on the ground to try and get a picture.

The `spy' who loved Krajicek: The reigning champion Richard Krajicek's girlfriend Daphne Deckers is the new Bond girl. Daphne was all over television during her boy friend's surprise title win and when the time for choosing a new Bond girl came, the casting director of the latest Bond movie, Tommorow Never Dies , did not hestitate put a call through to Daphne. According to Krajicek, she is not aspiring to become an actress but they gave her the part for fun!

Says Krajicek: ``I was a little surprised about the amount of attention she got at Wimbledon last year. In the tapes of the final she's always on the screen, though I don't mind. What did bother me was the cameras hardly took any notice of my coach Rohan Goetzke, who was sitting beside her,'' the champion was quoted as saying in The Daily Express.Daphne has already been to England a couple of times to do filming, playing the public relations woman of the bad guy. She also gets a few scenes with Pierce Brosnan, the Bond.
