Fake "swami" strikes again

BANGALORE, June 22: A conman, posing as a swamiji, duped a woman in the city of jewellery valued at about Rs 8000. This is the eighth time the conman has tricked Bangalore residents. The woman said the fake `swami' visited her house, and asked her to place her jewellery in a box in front on an idol, and worship the idol for a week to ward off evil spirits. He asked her to get some rice to cover the box, performed a pooja, and left. When the box was opened a week later, it was found to contain nothing but stones.
