MUMBAI, June 24: Voltas has posted a loss of Rs 16.82 crore for the year ended March 1997 as compared to the net profit of Rs 15.70 crore. The gross profit was down 19 per cent at Rs 55.79 as against Rs 69.01 recorded previously.

Sales and other income increased marginally from Rs 1459.46 crore to Rs 1469.40 crore in 1996-97. Turnover includes profit on sales of property amounting to Rs 13 crore.
