Rape victim found dead near CM's bungalow

NAGPUR, June 24: The body of a 30-year-old woman, who was allegedly raped and murdered, was recovered by Sadar police on Monday morning, from a spot near Ramgiri, the official residence of the Chief Minister.

The woman was found lying on the ground with stab wounds on her abdomen. Sadar police have sent the body for post mortem after the spot panchanama.

The woman, her brother and her nine-year-old son were residing at a house at Manavta Nagar slums, near the Dhobi Ghat. She was last seen on Sunday afternoon by her brother Santosh Sitaram Agarpayele when she went to collect fire wood from the premises of Ramgiri and adjacent areas.

However, she did not return by late night. On searching nearby areas on Monday morning he found the body of his sister on an open land behind the chief minister's bungalow.
