Mumbai Beat -- 6 hurt in building collapse

* Six persons were injured when a portion of a building under construction in Nagdevi street collapsed today evening, fire brigade sources said.The fire brigade was called at around 4.25 pm when a portion towards the rear of building no 52 at Nagdevi street fell on the six workers. No casualties were reported. The injured were treated for minor injuries and allowed to leave.

Rs 4.5 lakh forex seized

* Officers of Customs Preventive Commissionerate seized foreign currencies valued at over Rs 4.5 lakh from a person at Sahar airport on Tuesday, a press release stated.The arrested passenger, who was bout to board a flight to Dubai, had concealed part of the forex in his rectum and swallowed the rest in the shape of capsules.

One shot at in Dharavi

* One person was shot at by an unidentified gunman on Tuesday evening in Dharavi.

Farooque Khan, an electrician, was waiting at a bus-stop at 7 pm when he was accosted by a gunman who pulled out a country made revolver and opened fire on Khan. who collapsed receiving bullet injuries in his neck and chest.He was rushed to Sion Hospital where he is undergoing treatment.
