MADURAI, June 30: Six persons belonging to the Melavalavu village were hacked to death. It is said that the deceased were travelling in a private bus heading towards Dindigul when an armed gang travelling in the same vehicle attacked them. There has been tension at Melavalavu village ever since the panchyat was reserved for SCs, which was resented by the caste Hindus.
