Depleted Pakistan may select Sohail

Shahid Ahmed Khan

ISLAMABAD, July 1: Opening batsman Aamir Sohail is likely to be included in the Pakistan team for the Asia Cup cricket tournament in Sri Lanka later this month as the national selectors are faced with acute shortage of established players.

A number of regulars in Pakistan squad like Wasim Akram, Waqar Younis, Mushtaq Ahmed, Saqlain Mushtaq, Rashid Latif, Ijaz Ahmed and Asif Mujtaba have already intimated their non-availability to the Pakistan Cricket Board due to their pre-occupation in the English county circuit.

Only 12 players are at the conditioning camp now in progress for the selection of the Asia Cup team.
