Speakers meet in Banglore

Speakers of Legislative Assemblies and Council of the southern States of AP, TN, Karnataka, Kerala, Pondicherry and Goa will meet at Bangalore in August to decide on a venue for the next sports and cultural programmes for legislators. The ojective of the programme was to promote better understanding among legislators of different parties and region.

Bommai may abstain from voting today

Union human resource development minister S R Bommai, who has been trying to broker a compromise between the two rival Janata Dal factions, has indicated that he may not vote in the poll for party president today.
