Sohail back in Pakistan team for Asia Cup
AGENCE FRANCE PRESSE
KARACHI, July 5: Pakistan Test star Aamir Sohail was today recalled to
international cricket after his recent ban over match fixing allegations.
Sohail was included in a 14-strong side by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB)
under captain Ramiz Raja for the Asia Cup tournament due to start in Sri
Lanka on July 14.
A PCB council meeting in Lahore earlier formally lifted a two-year ban which
was imposed against the opening batsman in April on disciplinary grounds
after he accused fellow Test players of involvement in betting and
match-fixing.
The Pakistani Asia Cup squad is without five ace cricketers Wasim Akram,
Waqar Younis, Mushtaq Ahmed, Ejaz Ajmed and Mohammad Akram who are
currently busy playing in England.
Off-spinner Saqlain Mushtaq, who is playing in Surrey, will join the team in
Sri Lanka, officials said.
Former Test star and a member of selection committee Zaheer Abbas will
manage the team while Aamir Hayat Rokri will be the assistant manager.
Haroon Rasheed will be the coach.

Inzamam-ul-Haq, Aamir Sohail, Saqlain Mushtaq, Shahid Afridi, Moin Khan,
