Naxalites of the outlawed People's War Group (PWG) have blasted the house of former Telugu Desam minister and MLA of Chennur constituency, N Yethiraja Rao at Waddekothapally village in Warangal district of Andhra Pradesh yesterday.

Police today said the house was completely damaged in the blast. The legislator was not at home at the time of the incident.

Three armed extremists of Palakurti Dalam went to Rao's house and blasted it with gelatin sticks after forcing the inmates, including his wife Vimala Devi, to come out, police said. The ultras left a note stating that their action was in protest against the recent police encounter at Chityal in which two of their associates were killed, police added.
