Inflation falls further

NEW DELHI, July 6: After a brief spurt, the annual rate of inflation fell by 0.04 percentage points to close the week ended June 21 at 5.81 per cent. However, the decline in inflation based on wholesale price index (WPI) came alongwith a marginal price increase of commodities under ``primary articles'' group, which broke a declining trend. The annual inflation (provisional), calculated on apoint-to-point basis, declined to 5.81 per cent in the reference week from 5.85 per cent the week before.
