Bangalore, July 6: Favourite Ministerial (M Narredu up) scored a thrilling victory in the Maharaja's Gold Cup, the star attraction of the races held here today.

The winner is owned by Dr MAM Ramaswamy and trained by JH Foley.The Maharaja's Gold Cup is the first leg of the racing Grand Slam sponsored by the Everyday Industries. The next three legs will be held at Chennai, Calcutta and Mumbai.

Trainer JH Foley and jockey M Narredu scored a combination hatrick. Trainer Darius Byramji also had a brace of winners. Five favourites obliged punters in a card of eight events.
