Laloo may seek Congress support

This follows its acquisition of the near-50% stake in HIcare held by Puran Plastics & Chemicals, a 100% subsidiary of Godrej Soaps. PPCL's assets have been liquidated and the assets transferred to Godrej Soaps.

Gujarat claims gas rights, calls for global bids
The petroleum ministry and the Gujarat government are headed for a tussle in the matter of awarding prospecting licences for coal-bed methane gas. Both sides are preparing separately to invite global bids for exploiting the gas in coal and lignite-bearing areas.

IOC hard pressed to settle dues with ONGC
The Indian Oil Corporation will be hard pressed to settle its dues of Rs 1,100 crore to the Oil and Natural Gas Corporation. The payment relates to crude purchases between November and April this year for which deferred credit was sought for six months.

Active participation of FII investors at the local markets, saw about $8 billion funds flow into the domestic bourses, with the net effect that the 64 GDRs gained an average 1.07% and on the contrary their underlying shares gained
