Army officers killed in air crash

NEW DELHI: Major General Keshav Singh, chief of staff of a corps headquartered at Dimapur (Nagaland), and two other officers were today feared killed in a helicopter crash, defence sources said here. The helicopter took off from Rangapahar army base but lost contact with the ground control soon after. However, a report from Kohima said that the helicopter crashed in a dense forest near Porba village.

Probe into attack

BANGALORE: A special police team was formed today to investigate the attack on the office of The Asian Age, last night, even as the Press Council of India requested the Karnataka government to take deterrent action by apprehending the culprits and prosecuting them. Jain interrogatedNEW DELHI: Media baron Ashok Jain was interrogated for the second day today by the Enforcement Directorate at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) here in connection with alleged violation of Foreign Exchange Regulation Act (FERA), ED sources said. The second round of questioning was conducted by senior ED officials for over an hour in the private ward of the hospital where Jain was shifted on July 3 .
