JULY 7: A new logo has been approved by the advisory group of the golden jubilee celebrations committee to be used on all materials and media to spread the message of celebrations across the world during the fiftieth year of Indian independence.

The logo is designed as a unit with the serene sun of the chakra rising out of the waves of the tricolour of the national flag, signifying a new dawn and a new future, a release said today. The design is by `Artistree', an Oglivy & Mather specialist design unit.
