Complicity of Laloo found in three cases: CBI

PATNA, July 8: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) today told the designated court that complicity of Bihar Chief Minister Laloo Prasad Yadav has definitely been found in three of the six cases in which he had sought anticipatory bail.

CBI's Special Public Prosecutor L R Ansari told the court, ``Till date, the involvement of the chief minister in three of the six conspiracy angle cases of the scam, in which he has petitioned for anticipatory bail in the designated court, has not been found. But the chief minister's complicity has definitely been shown in three other cases in which he has also moved anticipatory bail.''

The cases in which Yadav's involvement was not found were RC 44 (A)/96, RC 39(A)/96 and RC 37(A)/96 of the scam, Ansari said.

Yadav has moved the Special Court for anticipatory bail apprehending arrest in six cases of the scam. He has already been chargesheeted in another conspiracy case of the scam in which the CBI had an undertaking. In all, the investigating agency has instituted 48 cases in connection with the scam. Patna High Court said that it would not arrest Laloo till July 21, the day hearing on his anticipatory bail petition resumes.
