NEW DELHI: A Delhi court today issued summons against former communications minister Sukh Ram for allegedly accruing properties disproportionate to his known sources of income between June 1991 and August 1996 when he held public office. The Central Bureau of Investigation which conducted raids at the former minister's residences in Delhi and Mandi, Himachal Pradesh, in July and August last year, charged Sukh Ram with amassing wealth to the tune of Rs 5.36 cr in harness as as a public servant.

Punjab blasts culprits identified

CHANDIGARH: The police and security forces have affirmed they have definite clues to the persons responsible for the twin blasts at Bathinda and Baghapurana and arrests would be effected soon, Punjab Chief Minister, Parkash Singh Badal told the assembly today. Paying tributes to those killed in the bomb blasts, Badal accepted the plea of the Opposition parties to convene an all-party meet on July 22 to discuss the situation arising out of terrorist activities in the state. The meet is to find solutions for checking terrorist activities .

New Indian Ambassador to Croatia

NEW DELHI: Udai Singh, present ambassador of India to Surinam, has been appointed ambassador of India to Croatia. Singh is expected to take charge of his new duties shortly, an official release said in new Delhi today.
