The stage is set for a battle among the stock exchanges. Competition is likely to intensify among the stock exchanges with the proposed move by the Over-the-Counter Exchange of India (OTCEI) to commence trading in top scrips listed on other stock exchanges.

BT-MCI to dilute regional hub plan
British Telecom-MCI plans to water down its original proposal for the strategic alliance with the Videsh Sanchar Nigam (VSNL) for a Rs 1,800 crore regional hub for routing international telephone call traffic. This comes in the face of stiff opposition from the Telecom Commission (TC) to the original proposal.
